Forgiveness .... that is the theme I picked up in Tessa' s story. Tessa is an artist, a good one too. She had been admonished by the Bishop that her art was wrong, sinful. Then he got up one Sunday and directed the entire sermon to her and everyone knew it. She got up and ran out.Tessa had been taking some art classes and had met a nice Amish boy from another community, one that was more lenient towards art. So James, her brother in law, talked to the boys parents to see if the would let her live with them. They agreed and her life became happier than she could have imagined.
Then the old Bishop was injured and it was causing him to go blind. The community tried to raise the money for the surgery needed, but couldn't. Funny thing, the right amount of money was gifted to him anonymously. Imagine his surprise when he found out where the money came from.
A very good story, quick to read.

A heartwarming story about the older generation Amish seeing the talents and ways of the younger generation that God has blessed them with.
Thoroughly enjoyed the believable characters and interesting storyline. Good Christian principles clearly brought out in the storyline. Looking forward to book #3.
Loved the book. Very sweet story to read in a short time. Nice for young girls too and us older women who like soft romance and not a lot of mush.
This is the eighth book that I have read that was written by Grace Given and therefore I was expecting to enjoy this book and I was not disappointed!
I especially liked the way the story ended.
I would indeed definitely recommend that others also read and I look forward to reading many more written by Grace Given
Tessa loves art. It draws her closer to God, but her Amish bishop thinks it a sin. When she meets another artist from a less restrictive Amish community, she begins to have hope. Maybe God has bigger plans for her than she ever imagined.
This is a sweet short story that’s easy to read. There were a couple of grammatical errors, but not many. Only back in history were cars made “of steel and tin.” Sometimes it was “Fannie” and at other times “Fanny.” What bothered me the most was the four times God’s name was used in vain. I don’t think the strict Amish would have done this.
